Umrah, often known as the ‘lesser’ or ‘minor’ pilgrimage, is a revered act of worship for Muslims. This journey takes pilgrims to the holy city of Makkah, where the Kaaba, the central shrine of Islamic faith and the focal point of prayer, is located. Here, they perform a series of sacred rituals.

Umrah is a deeply spiritual journey with profound importance for Muslims. It is a cherished Sunnah that provides an opportunity to renew faith and purify the soul. Pilgrims seek forgiveness, offer heartfelt prayers, and strive to strengthen their connection with Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged Muslims to perform Umrah at least once in their lifetime. He himself (SAW) performed Umrah on four occasions.

Umrah can be performed any time of the year unlike Hajj. Most often pilgrims also stay in Medinah before or after they perform Umrah, as Madinah is the second holiest city in Islam.

Hajj

Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, is a revered pilgrimage undertaken annually by millions of Muslims worldwide.

This sacred journey occurs in Makkah during Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar.

As a fundamental tenet of Islam, Hajj represents a spiritual obligation, requiring every Muslim to partake in it at least once in their lifetime, provided they possess the financial means, physical health, and emotional readiness to fulfill this duty.
